How to use the ZOOM H1N Handy Recorder

ZOOM H1 Handy Recorder

Below are the steps to record with the H1 recorder as well as playback and save your audio.


1) Turn on recorder



To turn on the recorder, slide down the power switch until the screen turns on.

2) Recording

With the recorder turned on, you can instantly begin recording by pressing the record button on the front of the device. To stop recording, press the record button one again. 

3) Playback

The H1 has the ability to playback all recordings made on the device through its built-in speakers (or a 3.5mm line out). Recordings are saved in order of which they were made. To get to playback, press the play/pause button from the main screen of the device. You can scroll through recordings using the FF and REW buttons and play and pause controls playback. 


4) Delete a recording

To delete a recording on device, press the delete button during playback. Pressing the record button confirms the deletion while the play/pause, rew and, ff buttons will all cancel the deletion


5) Connecting to a computer

The H1 saves all recordings to a micro sd card which can be removed and used to retrieve them. Alternatively, you can connect the recorder directly with the included usb cord. 



6) Finding Recordings

Open the folder on the sd card containing saved recordings. Recordings are saved in the order they were made with the higher numbered recordings being the more recent ones.  From here you can save a copy of the recording to any location you like.

ZOOM0006 is the newest and 0003 the oldest

7) Included with the recorder is a desktop tripod as well as a windscreen to help filter out ambient sounds from recordings.
