Create a blog and add authors in Blogger

TUTORIAL

This tutorial post is to show you to setup a blog and add authors. It will also show where to change the setting that determines which readers have access to the blog. Blogger is a great tool to communicate announcements and assignments, share exercises or prompts, community building, or to create a public place where student work can be published. The fact that Blogger is a Google product makes it convenient for Trinity users because any Blogger activity will shared through Tmail. Read more to see the tutorial.

Mail Merge with Gmail and Google Spreadsheet

A staff member needed to send a personalize email message to multiple students in one go. The individual messages needed to have the same content but the name needed to be personalized. For instance, each student needed to be greeted by their first name while the other parts stays the same. This saves you a lot of time compared to sending individual emails to everyone. Read on to learn how to use Tmail, Google Spreadsheets and an Add-on called Yet Another Mail Merge to send a mail merge.

Google Calendar | Appointment Slots

This post covers the Google Calendars Appointment Slots feature. This tool helps you set a period of time on your calendar, divided into available time slots for people to reserve. Once reserved the booked slot will appear in your Google calendar. At one point Google took this feature away but it is back just in a different location. Engineering Senior Design Video

This post covers some production gear that is available to Trinity faculty, students, and staff. I'll also provide a couple highlights about each product and a link to a vendors site for more information. Our equipment is intended to assist all skill levels. The CLT staff is knowledgeable in our inventory so please ask for assistance if you get stuck or are interested in learning more about the product. All items are intended for Trinity related purposes.

The CLT also has workstations (Mac and PC) loaded with video editing software. Quiet rooms (Flip Room and 101Q Media Presentation Room) are available to record your audio voice overs. Between the cameras, audio recorders, editing software, and creative spaces you should have all the tools needed to produce a clear and concise video for your audience.

This is perfect for a department meeting group project with those who are working remotely. Google Hangout is a video conferencing system that lets you have a video meeting. These are great because there is no mucking around with firewall settings, no VPN software to install, and chances are you probably already own everything that you need to get started.
